From time to time
From time to time I might add to this. I have decided it has to be only positive things. Too many negatives in my life right now. The sun is shining, the air smells good and I am looking forward with hope.

Anticipation
This morning I woke from a troubled sleep and am looking forward, with great anticipation and excitement, to my time away. The mountains have been calling me for some time and now I am going to see if that is where I will hang my hat. I came to Spain with hope and joy and had a great 5 years, now it is time to start another journey on another road. Where am I meant to be and how my life’s tapestry turns is the hands of the mountains.

It has been a long time !
I have not looked at this in a long time. I had my 3 weeks away and whole heartedly did not want to come back. I miss the light, the air, the mountains, the energy and peace of the place. I feel like a fish out of water here. I must find a way back, and soon. I feel the dark clouds descend already, the fog thickens and my mind is not at rest.

Back home.
Well I am back in Cañar my favourite place Since writing last post life got a bit more harassed. I took 3 weeks away in a different area of the Alpujarras, Yegen, not my cup of tea, too much plastic to see when looking out to mountains and not very friendly village. It seems there were a lot of ex pats there, many gone back home, some still there but feeling the pinch and or waiting for houses to sell. Just about the only noise you heard was caused by ex pats, it just did not feel right for me. The man in the shop was very friendly and helpful with my spanish and me with his English.
Estate matters to-ing and fro-ing, a little sad about the way things are going on that front. My elder son has decided to get married this August !
I decided to renew the fried air con unit in the hall with the temperature rising again and bad memories of last summer. Work all done and unit is working well. I topped up my pool before this trip away and forgot all about the well water disaster last year ! well it happened again within 2 days GREEN pool arghhhhh I threw in some 3 chem tablets and will have to hope it works to clear it.
My return here has been great, the weather is good. The locals as friendly as before and some new houses have appeared higher up the mountain. Alan, my taxi man when here was glad to see me, enjoys our chats. He and his wife are looking forward to their sons visit and their daughter is working at Glastonbury before going on to Leeds University later this year. I have a possible birding trip planned and trip to Orgiva market this week to stock up on local fruit and veg Hmmmm yummy.

All go again!
Time in mountains passed and trip to UK also behind me now. My sons wedding was brilliant, my grandchildren all looked super and did a grand job. The photos will be superb I am sure, having seen a small sample.
The weather was a mixed bag during my time, mostly good, I packed a lot in as usual, visits to family and friends, time with my sis and trip to see the dolphins.

Oh lordy where does the time go !
I have been so busy with starting to clear this house, hunting for a location and accommodation that I don’t know where the weeks go.
The weather has been great, I took myself and Scally away for a birthday break. I spent the time walking Scally, joining friends for Bbqs and trips out and discovered a few new likes and dislikes and ate too much food ! I
In the last month I have had some surprising information from a friend of old, which I find quite disturbing, not like them at all. A close family member is due test results next week, we are all hoping good news.

Oh my lord !
It has been a very long time since I visited this ! I was reminded by reading the blog of a friend.
Catch up time….. I have moved on and out of the house I shared with my late husband, a falling down dark dreary place to a more modern upbeat bright and airy place on the Guadiana river between Spain and Portugal. I feel good about it and hope settlement can be this year.
I am currently holidaying in my mountain village and enjoying tagging along with an artist to the setting up of an arts exhibition in the nearest large town. It opens this weekend and I am looking forward to seeing all the arts in situ. I have been impressed with some of the work I have caught glimpses of.
My trip back to UK was to attend my elder sons wedding, fantastic day. I have been back again to see all my family, spend time with my grandchildren and even managed to sell some of my craft items. I made a one of a kind wedding album for them, I think it was well received. I will get back to my craft work in earnest on my return to new home. I now have a craft/computer room although the view may be distracting

From high in ‘my’ mountain !
Almost at the end of 2 months up above the world below and time to go back home to my new place. The feista was super if a little noisy ( bands playing from midnight till 8 am ish ) and some the cultural events that followed were very good. I have met some new people, had some interesting conversations and enjoyed my stay. Hope to come back in the spring my favourite time of year here. Butterflies and flowers all around, colour and scents.
This winter I am going to concentrate on making my craft items for hopefully selling in the spring. I have made a batch of cards while here and quite happy with most of them. I have been making memory books and tags think I still prefer to do them.
